WBSC RANKING #1
After being No.2 for more than two years, the reigning world champions Argentina reached the top of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings, thanks to their Pan American Championship title winning performance on home soil in Parana in April.
A set of back-to-back-to-back homers in the fourth inning turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead in the final of the Men’s Softball Pan American Championship to power Argentina to a 4-1 victory over Canada. The Pan Am Games final was played in front of 9,000 Argentine fans highlighting the popularity of the game in the South American country.
The Pan American Championship was Argentina’s first continental title after winning two bronzes and two silvers in the last four events.
The South American nation currently holds the World Title, the Pan American Title and the Pan Am Games gold medal.
