  • FASTBALL 45® Feedback - 24 Dec
    Thank you to all those that took the time to provide feedback on the inaugural FASTBALL 45® National League. All feedback will be tabled for the review committee with the aim of helping to further shape and evolve the FASTBALL 45® product. We have received some outstanding feedback to date including a few gems for consideration. In addition, there are a number of themes that have come through which we feel would be good to provide context to.

    Pitchers ruled as Auckland teams clinched the first national Fastball 45® softball titles after dominating the modified version of the game.
  • The Ins & Outs Of Softball NZ’s Electric Shortened Game - 09 Dec
    Fastball 45® has returned this season and is bigger than ever thanks to three regional qualifiers ahead of this weekend’s National League finals in Auckland.
 

FASTBALL 45® is back, and its bigger, better and in your backyard.


In conjunction with Dynasty Sport, Softball New Zealand are pleased to roll out season two of FASTBALL 45®. Having completed a very successful 3 week club competition in Auckland last November the FASTBALL 45® model has been expanded to include Hutt Valley/Wellington and Canterbury.

Male and female team winners from Regional Qualifiers in Auckland, Lower Hutt and Christchurch will make their way to the Grand Final at ELE Stadium 11-13 Dec to slug it out for national honours.

Auckland and Hutt Valley/Wellington have adopted a draft approach to determine their teams rosters while Canterbury will include the top 4 club teams for each gender to compete in their qualifier.

Sky Sport will film and broadcast all 3 qualifiers along with the Finals weekend which will be delayed on free to air on Prime Television. Stephen McIvor will once again front the production along with 3-4 support commentators.

  • Week 1: November 20-22 ELE Stadium, Auckland
  • Week 2: November 27-29 Mizuno Ballpark, Christchurch
  • Week 3: December 4-6 Fraser Park, Lower Hutt

Finals
  • Week 4: December 11-13 ELE Stadium, Auckland
