A fantastic opportunity is available to be involved with the New Zealand development pathway, with the New Zealand Under 23 White Sox coaching and management team.
In line with the Senior high-performance programme, the major focus of the roles is preparation of the Major Sox squad / team for international competition, and transition into the pinnacle New Zealand White Sox (WSX) team. In collaboration with the Head Coach, Kiri Shaw, you will help align the Major Sox and National Squad programme to the underpinning talent programme and overall Softball NZ high performance strategy. The positions will support selected athletes, culminating in a number of regional camps, capture of baseline date and a monitoring programme, as well as involvement with the Canada Cup tournament in Vancouver this June/July.

SOFTBALL NEW ZEALAND BOARD MEMBER
6th March 2025
Softball New Zealand is seeking to co-opt a passionate and skilled Board Member. As well as assuming the collective and shared responsibilities of other board members, this person will be capable of Chairing the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee. This appointment will run until our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in August 2025. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of softball in New Zealand, and to strengthen our financial oversight and risk management practices to support the sport’s growth and success.
There will be an opportunity to apply for a full-term appointed position on the board in the lead-up to the AGM.
Ideally applicants will have skills and/or experience in the following competencies:
- Strong financial expertise (accounting, audit, or risk management experience preferred)
- Strategic governance experience
- An understanding of risk frameworks and compliance
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A genuine passion for sport and community development
In terms of the governance role, it would be expected you are able to demonstrate:
- Strategic thinking
- Ability to network
- Leadership and Governance experience (either sporting or corporate)

Two fantastic opportunities are available to be involved with the New Zealand development pathway, as the head coach of the New Zealand Under 18 national teams - The Junior White Sox and Junior Black Sox.

The Junior White Sox and Junior Black Sox Head Coaches, in conjunction with the greater high performance programme, will lead the planning, coaching and support to selected athletes culminating in a number of regional camps, capture of baseline date and a monitoring programme, squad and team selections for in country and international competitions (including WBSC Oceania Qualifiers and events) to be determined between the successful applicant and Softball NZ.
Events of note within the WBSC Softball Calendar include 2027 Continental Qualifiers, 2028 Group Stage and 2029 Under 18 World Cup competitions.

NZ MAJOR SOX - TEAM SCORER POSITION (CLOSED)

A fantastic opportunity is available to be involved with the New Zealand development pathway, as the New Zealand Major Sox team scorer.
Key Tasks and requirements for the role:
- Prepare and collate information on MJSX athletes in domestic competitions, as required by the Head Coach. Where practical, be prepared to score opposition games for scouting purposes during tournaments.
- Applicant needs to be competent with the use of Stat Track, Turbo Stats, Game Changer or similar software.
- Experience with electronic scoring is also desirable
- This position also includes assistance to Team Manager of various domestic duties whilst in camps or tournaments
- The applicant needs to be qualified at Level 6 or 7 in the NZ Scoring Certification programme
- The successful applicant should be aware that there may be a significant amount of self funding required.

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to join our team as a Business Support professional.
About The Role: The Business Support Administrator is a 20-25 hour a week permanent position that will deliver high-quality administrative assistance and operational coordination, enhancing overall business efficiency and contributing to the achievement of organisational targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- National Team Support: Coordinate bookings for accommodation, travel, equipment, and training camps. Organise team outfitting and assist in preparing and managing team budgets.
- Relationship Management: Manage contracts and relationships with insurance providers, vehicle and property leases, IT services, and travel agencies.
- Office Support: Provide IT support, manage travel arrangements for staff, assist with internal communications, maintain the Customer Relationship Management system, and provide additional support to the Chief Executive.
- Funding: Collaborate with the Chief Executive to determine funding requirements, obtain quotes, and apply to various funding bodies. Ensuring funding responsibilities are fulfilled and reported.
- General Duties: Ensure punctuality, prioritise workload, support a positive workplace culture, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar support role, preferably within a sports organisation.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Experience in funding applications and reporting, coordinating travel logistics, and managing relationships and contracts.
- Be part of a passionate team dedicated to the growth of softball in New Zealand.
