Tyla Morrison had a great season in the pitching circle. In February, she was part of a strong pitching staff for the Auckland Women’s team that won the National Fastpitch Championship. She finished the tournament with an amazing ERA of 0.00, and in doing so, received the Top Pitcher Award for the tournament. Tyla continued her good pitching form, leading from the mound to help her club team Waitakere Bears reach the Club National Championship final - an exciting game, where the result could’ve gone either way.
Tyla is a quiet achiever with a strong inner will to compete and perform well. She works on many aspects of her game along the way. Not only does she work on the physical and technical skills needed to perform well, over recent years she has put a lot of time into working on the mental side of the game. This has helped her better understand herself and the processes that work for her, leading to greater consistency in her performances.
Congratulations Tyla Morrison - 2024 Women’s Pitcher of the Year
